This week provided great insight
of what is expected for Tech Club at Hyalite.
I was very glad to be able to shadow the first cohort, in order to be
able to get a better grasp of what we will be doing with the students along
with the school’s expectations. I was
very surprised, but excited to see how many students attend Tech Club in
Hyalite’s after school program. I was
very impressed to see how well-behaved and cooperative the students are for the
pre-service teachers that conduct the Tech Club lessons. The students seemed to be very excited to be
able to use technology in the after school program.
I
will be working with the second grade students.
We will finish up their bullying project using puppets. They had put a lot of effort into this
project and it was clear that the students were really into what they had
worked so hard to accomplish. We will
continue to practice the puppet show and perform it for the other after school
program students and staff, while having it filmed. We will then use imovie to edit the
video. I am extremely excited for the
ensuing activities of the next five weeks, especially being able to help the
students learn about technology and bullying, while having fun at the same
time!
